December 2017

Posted on January 9, 2018

We finished out 2017 strong with a delicious assortment of artisan chocolate bars! Ready to see what we enjoyed last month?

Here we go!

Bar A

When we first saw this bar, we knew we had to try it. It includes two of my personal favorite fruits that pair with chocolate well, so I knew it was going to be a winner. In fact, my only worry was hoping that the maker didn’t find someway to screw it up. (That would be like an NBA star airballing a wide open layup with no defenders in sight.)

Before we get to that, let’s see what it was:

55% Dark Chocolate with Cranberries and Oranges by Theo Chocolate

A perfect fruit combination for the holiday season (indeed, this is actually a special flavor that Theo only offers during the holidays)!

And no, they didn’t manage to screw it up. This bar is delicious!

Bar B

This bar is reminiscent of a favorite Girl Scout cookie. If you tried it, I’m sure you can think of the one right off the top of your head. Either way, you’ll see it below 🙂

Just one inclusion to guess here. And it was quite an obvious one so we hope you didn’t think too much into it!

dark-chocolate-mint-crunch-chocolate-and-love

67% Mint Crunch Dark Chocolate by Chocolate and Love

We think this bar tastes like a Thin Mint in chocolate bar form. Or, in other words, pure bliss. While just about every mint chocolate bar is delicious (it’s a flavor combination straight from heaven!), this one stands out because of the crunch they’ve added.

Now, onto our last bar…

Bar C

Our last selection is a chocolate bar that could also be a pie, based on the inclusions. (Actually, on second thought, all of these bars should be pies. Chocolate Cranberry Orange Pie? Yes please! Mint Crunch Pie? Oh yes, I’ll have some of that. Can someone make this happen please?!)

Anyway, the selections here were also fairly obvious (Shame on us, we’re making it too easy for you guys to guess correctly and earn Cacao Points! Oh well…better take advantage of it!).  Let’s go ahead and reveal it…

pecanz-milk-chocolate-samuel-stafford

Milk Chocolate with Pecans and Caramel by Samuel Stafford

Chocolate Pecan Caramel Pie? That’s a thing, right? (Quick Google check….yes, this is indeed a thing.)

Anyway, we really enjoyed this bar and we hope you did too.

That’s a wrap!

Looking forward to revealing January’s bars next month 🙂
